Sunshine Birthday
On Monday, I posted a card using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. These thinlits and the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! catalog are products that I haven’t used a lot, so I decided to make a few cards with them. You can see Monday’s congrats card here.
Here’s the card I made for today. It uses to of my very favorite colors – Lemon Lime Twist and Bermuda Bay – and a fun technique.
The only stamping on the card is the happy birthday sentiment from the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set; all of the other elements are die-cuts from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. The butterflies are Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist, and the flower is Melon Mambo. Because it was so large and tried to overwhelm the sentiment, I lopped off the stem. Just pretend it was plucked by a 3 year old. Miss Amelia loves to pick flowers, but she hasn’t figured out yet that they need a stem for the water. But picking them and giving them away makes her happy, so I just float them in water.
To create the color on the sunshine layer, I used Glossy White Cardstock. I simply dragged a Lemon Lime Twist Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad over the cardstock, leaving some white space. Then I did it again with a Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin’ Ink Pad, filling in the white spaces and covering some of the Lemon Lime Twist. Last, I die-cut with the sunshine thinlit.
There is a dot over the i in the die-cut, but it got lost somewhere. I decided to use a Clear Faceted Gem instead, and I love the extra sparkle. I also had to add a comma after the Melon Mambo happy birthday using a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.
I mounted the die-cuts to the Whisper White Cardstock layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The sunshine die-cut is added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The entire Whisper White layer is on a Melon Mambo card base.
My plan is to start showing how versatile Stampin’ Up! products are by creating a sampler of several different cards using the same set. Look for more Sunshine Wishes/Sunshine Sayings cards this week!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
Such a bright, happy card, Buffy. I love how you did the sunshine two tone.

Thanks, Susan! I thought about you the whole time, because of the colors I used. 😉 (Ok, not the pink…the Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist.)
