Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

Pop-Up Gift Card Holder

One of the fun things about attending Stampin’ Up! events are the “pillow gifts” you receive from other demonstrators who attend. This year, I stayed in a condo with five other demonstrators. People who know me well know that I’m very introverted (I know; hard to believe, but it’s true). I love being on stage as long as I’m performing – singing, playing the piano, teaching a class. But being in the spotlight as me is a little challenging for me. (We had to introduce ourselves and tell why we joined a local choir. My heart was pounding so hard, I couldn’t hear what anyone else said. I’m surprised people didn’t hear it.)

I’m happy to say that I enjoyed the condo experience. It was so much fun to get to know the other ladies and get out of my comfort zone.

One of our roommates was Linda Bartolucci. Linda made these adorable pop-up gift card holders for us (mine had a Starbuck’s card in it. Linda is the best!) – and she even had instructions for us to photograph and take home.

Our Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator team has a challenge each month, and everyone who participates is entered into a drawing for a prize. This month, Liz was bringing the prize, but she has a brand new, not even 24 hours old grandson. She decided she’d rather spend time with him than with us (I know we’ll all agree that she’s making the right choice!), so I offered to bring the prize instead. This was a perfect project for the prize.

Birthday Blossoms, Stampin' Up!

My card holder is Tangerine Tango, with the beautiful Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper. I added the stamped flower from Birthday Blossoms to the belly band after I colored it with Stampin’ Blends.

Even though the Stampin’ Blends come in a dark and light version of each color (except the skin tones), you don’t have to use both on an image. For this flower, I used the darker Calypso Coral and the darker Daffodil Delight. It gives it a little more color and shadow. I covered it with a little Wink of Stella to give it some extra sparkle.

Here’s the inside. I stuck the gift card from Linda in my example, but that’s not the prize. The prize is some Black Rhinestones from the Holiday Catalog.

Stampin' Up!, Whole Lot of Lovely

I’ve added the instructions to the pages section at the top of my blog. It’s super easy.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

This is a great gift card (or rhinestone) holder. Linda must have heard about that coffee incident years ago in Orlando so she was prepared! 🙂

Great idea. I always feel that just a gift card is a let down to the recipient. This pop up gives it a “lift”!!

It’s that time of year when everyone needs ‘new’ ways to give gift cards! I’ve always loved this presentation 🙂
