Blends and Blossoms

Blends and Blossoms

Stampin’ Up! has a new line of alcohol markers, Stampin’ Blends. These are so fun to work with, and they blend beautifully. Each of the 12 exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors can be purchased separately, or in a combo (a light and a dark marker in the same color). There are two skin tone markers and a color lifter, and you can purchase all 27 markers in a bundle or separately. You can learn more about the features and benefits of the Blends in this quick video from Stampin’ Up!.

I wanted to let my class members try them out this month, so here’s a card we’ll be making in classes.

Birthday Blossoms, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up!

It’s very “Clean & Simple.” I used Old Olive as a card base, because no matter which of the Blends class members select for their flower, the leaves will be Old Olive. Simply stamp the leaves in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then stamp the flower on another piece of Whisper White cardstock and color with the Blends of your choice. (Hint: Be sure you have Stampin’ Up! grid paper under your cardstock to protect your stamping surface. The Blends will bleed through the cardstock a bit.) Punch it with the Pansy Punch and add it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flower and leaves are from the beautiful Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set.

While the Birthday Blossoms set includes sentiments, I chose to use the Special Celebrations thank you message in Old Olive.

You can’t see it well, because it’s a little camera shy, but I added some Clear Wink of Stella to the center of the flower. It’s lovely in person, but you’ll just have to trust me on that one.

Although I stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, you can stamp with any of our Classic Stampin’ Pads and get a beautiful blend. Just be sure to use a water based ink since the markers are alcohol ink. You can order the Stampin’ Blends today.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
