Crafting Forever

Crafting Forever

In April, I attended the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Local in Richmond, VA, with several friends from Virginia and Connecticut. I was also able to attend CenterStage, an event for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators with the title of Silver Elite or above. Holly, my friend Christy’s upline who has so very graciously “adopted” me into her group, also went to CenterStage, and we had a fun time together. I think Holly and I were the only ones who realized the display boards – with brand new products from the 2017-18 Annual Catalog – were unveiled. Usually they’re covered up until they’re ready for us to see them. There were no covers at CenterStage, so Holly and I sneaked around looking at the new products. We found out later that it was ok to look, and the Stampin’ Up! team members were amused at the covert peeking, and surprised that more people didn’t take advantage of the opportunity. (Hey – any time I get the opportunity to see new products early, I’m taking it!)

Tomorrow, I leave for OnStage Live in Salt Lake City. I’m so excited, because it’s the kick-off for the 30th Anniversary of Stampin’ Up! I’ll be staying in a condo with five other demonstrators (and I only know one of them, so it will be a wonderful opportunity to make new friends!). My “oldest” (in Stampin’ Up! years) current downline, Sandy, is also attending, so I know we’re going to have so much fun. But I’ve been so busy getting ready, a lot of the day to day stuff has been neglected around here.

Ever since I started paper crafting, this has been my slogan/mantra/catch phrase…whatever you want to call it.

Crafting Forever is the set we received at CenterStage in April. I love this set, first, because you can watercolor it! I have always loved to color, and our new Stampin’ Blends make everything more fun. I used about four colors just for the brush container – plus the Color Lifter. So. Much. Fun! If you haven’t ordered your Stampin’ Blends yet, you need to add them to your November order. Seriously – they make anyone look like an artist!

I don’t have to say a lot about this card. I stamped the image and sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored with blends. Easy. I added some Linen Thread and layered the stamped panel to a Crumb Cake card base. Done!

This set is a must for crafters, not only because the images are so perfect for us, but it also has “Angel Policy” stamps. If you want to sell your creations, you need to stamp them with an Angel Policy copyright stamp, and this set has one. Yay.

Even though I had a whole week to catch up on things, I’m still behind. You probably noticed this blog is barely squeaking in on Tuesday. Usually I blog at 6 a.m. Yeah…that ship sailed over 12 hours ago. It’s almost Wednesday. Not only has housework been put on hold the past…I’m not sure how long, but so has everything else. I created my December project for Craft Project Central last weekend, because it’s due next week, and I won’t arrive home until wee early Monday. I wrote the tutorial, and just need to edit a bit before I send it in. I also got to spend the past two days with my darling Amelia! Today was election day, and we had to vote (she got THREE stickers!), and she had her annual check-up with the pediatrician. I wanted to make “pillow gifts” for my roommates and downline (the plan was a gift for every day, but I settled for one big gift), and I needed to make swaps for them. Add in rehearsals and practice time (because I’m also a musician), and it’s been a busy time here. I know…you’ve heard it all before, right?

Anyway – I’m going to “schedule” my posts for this week. If you want to keep up on the lastest news, follow me on Facebook.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
