Stamp-Off Friday Sketch Challenge
It’s time for another Friday Stamp Off with Susan, Jackie, and me. This week, we have a sketch challenge for you.
This sketch was inspired by a swap I received from my dear friend Linda Wicks. I loved Linda’s card, so it’s living on as this sketch.
Here’s my take on it.
Aside from the crooked sentiment, I’m really happy with this. I used the Christmas around the World Designer Series Paper for the background. The lamppost is one of the Christmas Lamppost Thinlits Dies. Of course, I bundled these with the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set to save 10%. The wreath and the bow are two of the stamps that have coordinating thinlits.
When I pulled out my thinlits, there was one that had three little coffee cup looking diecuts. Sandy was stamping with me, and I asked her what in the world they were. We were both dumbfounded for a minute, so I took them to the Big Shot. As I was finishing cutting and having my “Aha!” moment, Sandy said, “Is it for the lights?” The die-cuts fit perfectly behind the lights, so they are “Brightly Lit.” Fun! The lights are Crushed Curry, and the lamppost, obviously is Basic Black.
I decided to add a wreath, so I stamped it in Garden Green. The berries are a separate stamp, and I used Cherry Cobbler for those. Very traditional Christmas! I was going to add a Cherry Cobbler bow, but I wanted to pull in just a touch more Pool Party. I stamped the outline in Island Indigo and the bow in Pool Party.
The Merry Christmas sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. And, yes, I should have used a stamp positioner! If I send this, I’ll probably restamp it on a tag.
You’ll definitely want to see what Jackie and Susan created this week. I always look forward to seeing their creations. I try to guess what they’ll use, and I’m usually wrong. They’re so creative, so do check out what they’ve made for you.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
Buffy, this is wonderful. I matches the sketch perfectly, but is such a quaint, lovely Christmas card with that beautiful color combination

Very cute card. I’m glad you figured out what that die was because I love that the lights are lit!

Awesome card – and just in time for me to CASE! LOL 🙂 I just got this set, and haven’t used it yet, but can’t wait. Thanks for the tip on ‘lighting’ the lanterns!

It’s probably obvious to everyone else. But they are very cute with the lights!
