Thinking of You at Christmas
This week is my week to catch up. Wesley (my son and the father of the Amazing Amelia) took several days off. He works 12-hour shifts, so taking two days off gives him a whole week. This time, he took five days, so he has almost two weeks off. Since I’m not babysitting my granddaughter, I’m supposed to be “catching up” on projects.
Next week, I’m leaving for Stampin’ Up! OnStage Live in Salt Lake City (WOOT!), so before I go, I need some pillow gifts and swaps. When I get back, I have two card classes and a Craft Project Central (CPC) project due. Have I started? No. My catch up week is half over and I’m not even close to catching up. I have, however, gotten a lot of practicing done. I’m accompanying a concert in early December, and I think I’m in good shape. And I have ideas for classes and the CPC project. That’s half the battle, right?
I had an idea for a card last month, but it didn’t work out. I took the pieces and created this.
I’m really having fun with the Christmas in the Making stamp set. This card could be a Christmas card, but it can also be a thinking of you card or a winter birthday card.
I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival Ink, then colored with Watercolor Pencils and an Aqua Painter. (One of these days, I’m going to remember to use Watercolor Paper instead of Whisper White Cardstock! Watercoloring works so much better with Watercolor Paper.) I added a few sparkles to her fur boots, collar and hat with Clear Wink of Stella.
This is a super simple Smoky Slate/Bermuda Bay card. I embossed the Smoky Slate layer with the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. After I layered the Smoky Slate with the stamped layer, I added some Bermuda Bay 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. It’s beautiful! You’re going to love whatever color you order the ribbon in – Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, or Garden Green. (Garden Green? I have to have that to use with the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper!)
Hope you’re having a productive and happy week! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Susan. You’re sweet; after reading about your past couple of weeks, my life is easy! At least my kids/grand/parents are all in one place! (Although I don’t know if that makes it easier or harder sometimes.) And, of course, you know that by “swaps” I mean “3 cards for team members and friends.”
