Deck the Halls
As is always the case, whenever Stampin’ Up! releases a new product or catalog, I totally ignore my beautiful current products. It’s like when a cute new guy or girl moves into the neighborhood and all the local girls/guys go crazy over him or her. It’s especially true if you live in a neighborhood where everyone has known each other since birth and are in the same school and neighborhood church. They’re familiar and comfortable with each other, kind of like family. So having someone move in who doesn’t seem like a brother, sister, or cousin is intriguing.
That’s the way it was with my Watercolor Pencils. I was so excited when they showed up in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog last year. I loved (and still have) my original set of pencils, so having the new ones – with sharp points and exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors – was lovely. I used them for everything.
Now that the new Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers are being released, my sad pencils got overlooked for awhile. So I decided to show them a little love the other day.
I love the Christmas in the Making stamp set. It’s “vintage,” which means it reminds me of my childhood. (I remember when thinking “vintage” made me think of my grandmother’s attic. Now it’s my attic.)
Since I used Whisper White cardstock instead of Watercolor Paper, the colors didn’t blend as well as I’d like. I used lots of blues and greens for her dress. After I got the lady all colored up, I fussy cut the image and added her to an embossed oval. The die-cut tree is one of the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits that carried over from last year’s Holiday Catalog to the current Annual Catalog. I used Emerald Envy Cardstock for the tree, because that’s another color I’ve been neglecting a bit.
The Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper went perfectly with the image of the lady decorating the tree. And I didn’t need a sentiment on the front, because the paper says it all.
You have one more week to enjoy the “Buy three, get one free” Designer Series Paper promotion. Click here to see the selected designs. (The Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper is perfect for the Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers, or the new Blends. And the Christmas Around the World paper has beautiful plaids and stripes, as well as fun Christmas images and “word bubbles.” Don’t get me started on the Birthday Memories, Delightful Daisy, Coffee Break, Naturally Eclectic, Painted Autumn, or the Color Theory and Wood Textures stacks. Those are my eight favorites. Hmmmm – if I purchased six, I’d get two free. (And why, exactly, am I writing that like it didn’t happen?)
Don’t miss out on this fabulous promotion. You can order 24/7 from my store, or text, call, or email me with your order and payment info.
