Berry Sugarplum Tulips

I love the Tranquil Tulips hostess set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It’s a two-step set and very artistic looking.

I stamped the smaller, darker image first in Berry Burst. I find that if I stamp the darker image first, it’s easier to line up the lighter one – which is Sweet Sugarplum. Then I stamped the stems in Garden Green. I love this combination!

Because I had stamped on Whisper White, it looked a little stark, so I sponged the background with Soft Sky. I wasn’t sure I could get close enough to the tulips without muddying the petals, so I stamped the larger images again in VersaMark and clear embossed them. Then I could sponge my heart out!

There aren’t any sentiments in the Tranquil Tulips set, so I grabbed Thinking of you from Colorful Seasons.
