Another Birthday Card
I love getting cards in the mail, don’t you? Now that we send birthday greetings on Facebook, I don’t get as many cards, and that’s sad. I try to send as many as I can, because there’s nothing like getting an envelope in the mail with a beautiful card inside (especially handmade!). Because my birthday is early in September and often falls during the Labor Day holiday in the US, I celebrate all month. I know people are busy getting kids back to school and celebrating the end of summer, and I don’t want anyone to feel badly because they missed my birthday. So, as far as I’m concerned, my birthday celebration begins around the beginning of August and continues through the end of October. That way, if people are like me and are a tad late sending the cards, they don’t have to feel guilty. (How sweet am I, right?)
Here’s a card I got from my friend Christy. It’s gorgeous!
How beautiful is that dragonfly The full dragonfly was diecut using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits from Whisper White Cardstock, then colored and covered with Clear Wink of Stella. You can’t see it well in the photo, because Stella is a little shy, but it’s so magical and sparkly in person. Then the detailed dragonfly was layered over it in Basic Black. (Sadly, the little Petite Flower Punch has retired. It was such a wonderful punch for layering flowers or for a little extra embellishment. A moment, please…Ok. I’m fine now.) But there’s more.
It’s a super “fun fold” card with more dragonflies using the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set. There’s a window for the dragonfly that was created with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, and a “Z-fold” insert. So cute!
This would make a gorgeous fall card using the Painted Harvest and Gourd Goodness stamps. You can see I’m really loving those two sets! The Painted Harvest is especially versatile, because you can color those sunflowers any color you want. If you don’t have this set, you really need to add it to your next order! It’s in the 2017 Holiday catalog. If you don’t have a copy, let me know and I’ll send you one. Just send an email with your address to buffyc388 (at) gmail (dot) com. In the meantime, you can see the products here. Or you can see the entire catalog here.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

It is gorgeous. I think it was from a swap. I have some time tomorrow; I’ll figure it out and post instructions.
