Merry Christmas Music
If you have a copy of the Stampin Up! 2017 Holiday Catalog, I hope you’re loving it as much as I am. If you don’t have a copy, let me know and I’ll get one to you!
Here’s a fun, quick, and super easy card we’re making this month at class.
This uses the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) with the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. The Whisper White layer looked a little bare, so I embossed it with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder after I stamped Merry Christmas.
You’re probably wondering why I stamped first and then embossed, since Merry Christmas is obviously a punched banner. So here’s the long story. Originally I used a stamp from Oh What Fun, but it was a little large and totally overshadowed the DSP. Everything was just off balance. So I “redid” the Whsiper White layer, stamping Merry Christmas in Cherry Cobbler. Oops. My Teeny Tiny Wishes is a wood mount set, and whoever originally mounted it to the wood block (me, of course) adhered it heading slightly downhill. It looked ok, though, until I added the Merry Music layer back in. It looked very wonky, so I stamped on a scrap, punched, and added it to the card. For class, I’m offering the Stamp-a-ma-jig option.
To break up the Black/White/Red a little, I splattered a tiny bit of Cherry Cobbler to the DSP. And don’t you love that Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon? It’s so elegant – and it’s perfect for any type of card. (If you make Halloween cards, you need this ribbon!) It also comes in Powder Pink, Pear Pizzazz, and Pool Party.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Hope your day is filled with music, joy, and fun!
