Christmas in the Making

Christmas in the Making

I know it’s early for some people to be thinking about Christmas; it’s still early September. But I couldn’t resist using the Christmas in the Making set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog last week.

Christmas in the Making, Stampin' Up!

I love this set, because it reminds me of the 60s. Lots of the books Mom read to us when we were young had illustrations like this, and I couldn’t resist buying it. I also love to watercolor, and this set is perfect for that!

I used Watercolor Paper, Watercolor Pencils, and an Aqua Painter to color the image. It’s so fun to blend the pencils to get new colors.

For the background strips, I used the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP), also from the Holiday Catalog. It’s so fun! It’s a little thinner than regular DSP and it’s printed with traditional Christmas carols. There are four each of six double-sided designs. So fun! I colored one strip with Rich Razzleberry ink and splattered the other strip.

The sentiment is from the Annual Catalog set Oh, What Fun. And speaking of fun…we had the best time in the mountains over the weekend. I read three books, and…that’s it. Except on Sunday all the kids came down and Mike cooked a scrumptious meal. We had so much fun over our long weekend that I forgot Monday wasn’t really a weekend day and I forgot to blog. Oops!

Hope your weekend was as lovely as mine was. Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Such a cute card, Buffy! I love watercolouring, and the pencils 🙂 The more I see this stamp set, the more I think I ‘need’ it!
