Thanks for Everything
My granddaughter Amelia will be three years old in a little over a week. I can’t believe how time has flown! She loves Chuck E Cheese’s, so we had a “gathering” there Friday. I guess it was a party, but when the attendees are mostly preschoolers and toddlers, it’s more of a gathering. They each do their own thing and don’t interact much (except to try to take toys away from each other).
Miss Amelia LOVED being the star of the show, but (in this grandma’s opinion) she was also very gracious and kind. Of course, Amelia is used to being the star of the show every day of her life since she’s the only grand so far.
This was the easiest party ever. Chuck E Cheese’s supplied the pizzas, drinks, game cards, cake, and entertainment. And Marcella, our “party planner” was super amazing. She was so sweet to all the kids. (You can see her at the left of the first picture.) All we had to do was show up with presents. Fun!!
Here are a few pics from the event of the season.
This is Amelia with her cake. See that smile? It was plastered on her face the entire party! As were the ones from her fan club (Jon and I are in the photo. Katelyn and Mike were busy taking the pictures, and Wes was close to Amelia keeping her hair and other parts out of the candle flames. What a wonderful daddy she has!)
Amelia with Chuck E Cheese. She was a little in awe, I think, but he high-fived her pony, so now they’re besties!
And this is Amelia (and Jon! What a great sport.) ready for the Ticket Blaster. She loved the wind tunnel effect. The goggles are fitted for kids, so Jon had to hold his on with one hand and try to catch tickets with the other. But he’ll do anything for that little girl, even act like a fish in an aquarium for all the world to watch! Every girl needs a great dad and a Jonny, and Amelia has both.
She got lots of great gifts, and everyone knew her favorite things (all P’s) – puppies, ponies, and Paw Patrol. Here’s one of the thank you notes she’ll be sending out. (And, yeah – if you get one, she totally wrote the note and signed it!)
I created a watercolor background using Emerald Envy and Fresh Fig, then splattered it with ink and an Aqua Painter. After it dried, I stamped the sentiment from All Things Thanks, then die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits. Fresh Fig and Sweet Sugarplum look great together, so I layered a Softly Falling embossed Emerald Envy layer to a Sweet Sugarplum card, tied a length of Fresh Fig Finely Woven Ribbon around it, and added the stamped layer (matted to Basic Black).
If you’re interested in how I created the background, it’s going to be one of the first Technique Classes beginning in October. I’ll be posting information in September, and you’ll want to RSVP on my web site! It’s a super fun and very easy technique.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
