Stamp-Off Color Challenge

Stamp-Off Color Challenge

This week’s Stamp Off challenge is a fun color challenge. We are using at least three of the new Stampin’ Up! 2017-19 In Colors.

When I first saw the new In Colors, I wasn’t sure how Lemon Lime Twist would work with the other colors, and especially the other greens in the Color Collections. But, wow! It’s such a versatile color, it goes with almost everything. I decided to use Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist (LLT), and Powder Pink for my card today.

Birthday Delivery, Stampin' Up!

I chose those three colors because they worked really well with the color palette in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper.  LLT is in the palette. Sweet Sugarplum is also in there, and it looks beautiful with Fresh Fig. Blushing Bride is another color in the palette, and – ok, it’s not Powder Pink. But if you don’t put them side to side, you probably won’t notice that it’s not the exact same color.

After I decided on my three colors, it was a cinch to pick the stamps and sentiments. I used the poodle from Birthday Delivery, because this is also a birthday card for Amelia and she loves dogs. The other reason is that I ordered the Birthday Delivery Photopolymer Bundle, which includes the Birthday Delivery stamp set, Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper, and the Birthday Friends Framelits Dies. Paper, stamps, and dies? Yes! And do you know why? Those fun framelits work with images in the designer series paper as well as the stamps. (You didn’t really think I stamped and colored the poodle that well, did you?)

I decided the poodle should be carrying some birthday balloons, so I used the smaller balloon image in the Balloon Celebration stamp set and the coordinating balloon in the Balloon Bouquet punch.

What’s that? You see Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide in this project too? You’re right. When I started stamping balloons on Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, I thought, “Hey – if I stamp the LLT balloon in Tranquil Tide and the Powder Pink balloon in Berry Burst, I’ll have used all five colors!” So, yeah. I’m an overachiever sometimes.

The sentiment is also from the Balloon Delivery stamp set. I stamped in Fresh Fig on Powder Pink cardstock. I have the Triple Banner Punch, but this time I just notched the banner by hand with Paper Snips.

Now – go see what colors Susan and Jackie used. I have a feeling at least one of them also used all five colors, because they’re both overachievers as well!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

It’s a sickness. I really didn’t plan on using Tide and Berry, but they worked so well…I think it’s funny that we all chose Powder Pink, and I don’t think any of us are pink lovers, are we?

  3. Jackie says:

Yep, you are an over achiever. Such a sweet card!
