Color Challenge Entries
Every month, a group of area Stampin’ Up! demonstrators get together. We talk about stamping news and business tips, share projects we’ve created (kind of like “Show & Tell”), and have a make & take. We also have a challenge to work on for the next meeting. Sometimes it’s a “tic tac toe,” sometimes a sketch, and once in a while we have a “Chopped” challenge (use all the ingredients in an envelope in some way). For August, we had a color challenge.
The colors are Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, and Lemon Lime Twist. Everyone’s cards were gorgeous, even though several people didn’t care for the combination. (Hey, if it was easy, it wouldn’t be a challenge, right?)
This is Christy’s card. I love the die-cut flowers and sentiment, and the layout is so simple and elegant. I love those Swirly Scribbles flowers, and the die-cut sentiment really pops.
This is Sandy’s first card. I love this, but her husband thought it was too “fussy.” So she made this.
Again – I love this one, because all three colors are very prominent, but Sandy didn’t like this one, because it’s not her style. She used the Oh So Eclectic bundle with the Happy Birthday thinlit. How clever to cut “Happy” off, to give it more versatility!
This is the one Sandy settled on. I don’t think there’s any stamping on this; it’s all die-cuts and embellishments (she and Christy were on the same wave length, I think – although Christy did stamp the leaves for the flowers before they were die-cut.) This is a perfect card for a new crafter who might be intimidated by stamps and ink. I love the washi tape layers on this card.
This is Judy’s card. I love how Judy embraced all three colors. This reminds me of summers at my grandparents’ house. My grandmother had a trunk full of fabric pieces and one of my favorite things was to dig through all the different colors and textures. This card makes me happy.
This is Carol’s card. I love the way she used High Tide for the water behind the chairs. These colors are perfect for a beach card.
Liz also used the Oh So Eclectic bundle. I love the peek of paper behind the cut out, and all the coloring on the front of the card. So pretty.
And this is Allison’s card. Allison is one of our newest team members. I love the jar of flowers – and she used a glaze on the jar to make it look like glass. If you have any of the retired Crystal Effects, it’s perfect for this. If you don’t, try the Fine-Tip Glue Pen. You can really get into the corners with that.
I didn’t add my card, because I used the wrong colors. (oops!) Pool Party was stuck in my head instead of Bermuda Bay. You can see the card here. (Bonus: This was a post mostly about Amelia.)
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day.
