Petal Garden Love
Here’s another challenge from the virtual PJ party last weekend. We were given three cards from the Stampin’ Up! Petal Garden Memories & More Card Pack to use on a card. The card pack includes 72 double-sided cards (52 3″ x 4″ and 20 4″ x 6″), plus cardstock sticker sheets and gold foil die cuts. The cards are gorgeous, and while they’re perfect for either traditional memory keeping or to use in pocket pages, they also work well with other products.
My sample had gorgeous cards.
Aren’t those roses gorgeous? The Memories & More cards coordinate with the Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack and the Graceful Garden stamp set. The Petal Garden Suites is one of my favorites in the new catalog.
For this card, I didn’t use any stamps. I cut out the roses from one of the cards and layered it over a scalloped oval that I die cut from another card. I added pieces from other parts of the cards – the “love” banner and the dotted layer at the top of the card.
The card needed a few more borders, so I added three strips of washi tape from the Basics Pack 1 Washi Tape. I love the colors and designs in the Basics Packs. Sometimes washi tape can get lost when it’s used over darker colors. I knew the floral design would disappear over the Old Olive Cardstock, so I backed it with a bit of Whisper White Cardstock first, then adhered it to the card.
I used Berry Burst as the base for my card. It’s not one of the colors in the Memories & More cards or the Designer Series Paper, but it worked really well with all the other elements. It was a little softer than Rich Razzleberry, but could hold it’s own a little more than Sweet Sugarplum. That’s one of the nice things about Stampin’ Up! products; they all coordinate.
Don’t forget to place your $50 minimum order before midnight Monday, July 31 to qualify for a Bonus Days coupon! For every $50 you spend in July, you’ll receive a coupon code for $5 to spend on Stampin’ Up! products in August!
