Stamp-Off Color Challenge

Stamp-Off Color Challenge

It’s time for another Stamp-Off Challenge. This week, we have a color challenge, and it’s a good one!

These are three of my favorite colors, so I loved this challenge. We made a card at our Stampin’ Up! demonstrator meeting that almost fit the challenge – but it didn’t have Bermuda Bay on it. (I should have planned better!) I changed just a few things and ended up with this.

You've Got This, Daisy Delight, Stampin' Up!

Do you love it? I sure do! I used embossing paste with the diamond background from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. Before I added the paste to the card, I mixed in a drop of Bermuda Bay Ink Refill.

After the embossing paste dried, I gave it a good wash with Lemon Lime Twist refill and an Aqua Painter. The hardest part was waiting for everything to dry. While I was trying to be patient, I stamped the daisy from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set twice on Crushed Curry Cardstock with Calypso Coral ink, then punched with the Daisy Punch. (You can order the stamp set now, but the punch is currently unavailable. It’s been hugely popular! It should be back early in August, though – and that’s not too far away! If you can wait, you should bundle the stamp set and punch, you’ll save 10%.) For the daisy center, I used a Gold Faceted Gem. These are beautiful for flower centers.

Instead of ribbon, I used two strips of washi tape. The Lemon Lime Twist flowers strip is from Basics Pack 2, and the Pool Party striped piece is from Basics Pack 3. Trust me, you’re going to want all three packs. They coordinate with everything. And, of course, the Pick a Pattern Washi Tape Pack will cover the other colors.

My sentiment is from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set. For the card at our demo meeting, we stamped in Basic Black, but to make sure the Bermuda Bay got good billing, I switched my sentiment to that color. I think it really pops on the Lemon Lime Twist wash.

I just realized we have a Washi Tape challenge and an Embossing Paste challenge coming up. Do you think anyone would notice if I entered this card again? (Just kidding!)

So now head over to Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs and see what they’ve created. These are some of Susan’s favorite colors, so it won’t be much of a challenge for her either. But Jackie is just dipping her toes into the beauty that is Lemon Lime Twist, so I can’t wait to see what she made.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Buffy, this is wonderful! I love the embossing paste and had never thought of adding a wash over it. The Lemon Lime Twist worked great for that purpose. The daisy really amplifies the texture from the embossing paste.

Thanks, Jackie! When I first saw Lemon Lime Twist, I was a little timid about it, because it is quite bold. But I decided to just go for it. Susan’s “added colors” – Bermuda Bay and Pool Party are perfect with LLT for a summer card.

Susan, you’re funny – but thanks. This card was so simple. Seriously, the hardest part – and the part that took the longest – was waiting for the paste and then ink wash to dry.

What a fun colour combination! Perfect for summertime 🙂 I love the wash of Lemon Lime Twist over the background and embossing paste, Buffy.
