Dance Like No One’s Watching
I attended the Stamp & Scrap Expo in Chantilly, VA, a couple weekends ago and had so much fun. It’s always fun to spend time with like-minded crafters, and I enjoy seeing the new products that are available. I tend to stay with Stampin’ Up! products 99% of the time, but there are other companies that have some amazing products. One is the company that makes stamps that look like you watercolored an image. Liz, Sandy and I took a class and learned a lot about using their stamps.
I bought a few stamps and some adhesive. My favorite product, though, was watercolor crayons. I had one set already, and I bought several other sets. I used them to color the image on this card.
The image is from Beautiful You, and I love all the ladies in that set. This one is very whimsical, though, and I’ve been wanting to use that sentiment (from Art Impressions). I stamped the image on Watercolor Paper using Basic Black Archival Ink, then watercolored with distress crayons from Ranger. I’m hoping Stampin’ Up! brings back our watercolor crayons soon, but in the meantime, these are fun! I used an Aqua Painter to blend the colors a bit.
I think Peekaboo Peach and Lemon Lime Twist are gorgeous together – and it sounds like a nice slushie as well. I matted the image with Basic Black, then added it to a Lemon Lime Twist card after embossing the front of the card with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. As a final touch, I added some Peekaboo Peach Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon.
Sometimes it’s easy to forget about the returning images in Stampin’ Up! catalogs. Beautiful You was one of my favorite sets from the Occasions Catalog, but I haven’t used it much since the new catalog came out. I’m so glad I pulled it out and brought it with me on our mini vacation.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Deborah. Amelia dances all the time. When I dance with her, she looks at me funny and encourages me to sit down. Ah, well. At least she’s not old enough to have me committed!
