A Coffee Day
What a whirlwind week this has been. Wait, seriously? It’s only Tuesday? It seems like everything waited until this week to happen, and I’m spinning in circles. I don’t know if I just needed to focus or I was extra tired today, but I hit the coffee pot really hard. To be fair, the coffee we buy is really, really good. Even their decaf is excellent. Usually I hate decaf, because it just tastes weak and funky. But Camano Island’s decaf tastes as good as regular – not that I drink it a lot. I buy it for Mike. But sometimes, late at night, you just want a cup of coffee, but you still want to sleep.
I had a little time yesterday and today to play with a new stamp set from the 2016-17 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog – Coffee Café. It’s so fun – and there’s a coordinating set of Coffee Cups Framelits. (Of course, if you bundle them, you save 10%.) There’s also coordinating designer series paper, and some of the framelits also die-cut images in the paper. So cool!
For my card, I only used the stamps and framelits, although I did use two new Designer Series Paper Stacks.
I stamped the cup on a piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper and ran it through the Big Shot with the coordinating die. Then I cut foam from Whisper White Cardstock, a sleeve from Crumb Cake Cardstock, and a frappuccino lid from Vellum Cardstock. Finally I cut a straw from Soft Sky Cardstock. All that was left was to put the cup together. (A note about the sleeve die – it corrugates your paper as well as die-cuts it. Fun!)
I decided to use a piece of the “crackle” pattern in Old Olive from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack. It went well with the other colors without overwhelming the cup. And it was light enough that I could stamp the image on the paper. I didn’t want a tag, because I didn’t want it to compete with the coffee.
My sentiment is from Balloon Celebration, a set that carried over from last year’s catalog. It has such fun sayings. I stamped “Come, let us sit together and drink coffee” in Early Espresso and “(and eat cookies)” in Old Olive. I could have eaten cookies today, but I didn’t. I just drank another cup of coffee instead.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Deborah! And I agree. I can do without a lot of things. Coffee isn’t one of them. (Ask Susan! She has horror stories.)
