At Stampin’ Up! OnStage in April, we all received the new Crafting Forever stamp set. It’s perfect for crafters, with images of paper snips, an eraser, pens, a twine-wrapped wooden clothespin, and a container of brushes and other tools. The sentiments are also very versatile – and there’s a copyright stamp, so it fulfills the Angel Policy.
You can see that I’m loving the 1/4″ Copper Trim. Wait! One quarter inch? Where?? The trim is 1/4″ when it’s on the spool, and it’s wonderful as a trim or to use to tie something. But you can also pull it apart and it becomes this gorgeous ribbon. So fun!
I stamped the image in Basic Black Archival Ink, then water colored with lots of Stampin’ Write Markers and an Aqua Painter. You can’t see it in the photo, but I also added Clear Wink of Stella to the X-acto Knife, Paper Piercing Tool, and the metal parts of the paint brushes.
Another wonderful product from the Stampin’ Up! 2017-18 Annual Catalog is the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. Isn’t that paper gorgeous? Ok – “gorgeous” might not be a word you’d use. To me, it’s beautiful, but others might say, “ummmm, it’s a picture of weathered wood.” And that’s why I love it. Distressing is one of my favorite techniques – sanding, sponging, ripping, crumpling; I love making things look vintage. But I didn’t have to do anything for this paper except cut it to size.
After adhering the DSP to the Crumb Cake card, I simply added the stamped image and the trim. Super easy! Inside, I used the sentiment, “Do something creative every day.” I also stamped some of the clothespins tied with twine. They’re really cute – but I feel like I should turn them loose, because they remind me a little of a hostage situation. I watch too much NCIS, I think.
Be sure to check in tomorrow for our Stamp-Off Friday Challenge! It’s a fun one. I can’t wait to see what Jackie & Susan did!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day.
