Stamp-Off Friday Lovely Swans
It’s Stamp-Off Friday, and this week, we have a color challenge.
How fun is this color combination? I knew when I saw it that I wanted to use Swan Lake and High Tide together. And then I decided to throw in a few trees from Lovely as a Tree.
When I bought Lovely as a Tree many, many, many years ago, Stampin’ Up! only had wood-mount stamps in clam shell cases, not the snazzy new cases we have now. All my stamps except Lovely as a Tree and Teeny Tiny Wishes (also wood-mount in a clam shell case) are together on a shelf, but the other two are in a different spot. I forget about them sometimes, but I thought the evergreen would make a fun background for this card.
I got a little carried away with the water, but I like the way the card turned out. I stamped the trees first in Smoky Slate, then in Wild Wasabi. Then I stamped ground using a stamp from High Tide in Crumb Cake ink. Finally, I added water in Island Indigo, plus a little Pool Party and more Wild Wasabi.
To fill in some of the white spaces, I sponged Pool Party over the lake and Marina Mist in the sky. I decided the swans needed to be a little more defined, so I stamped the babies in Basic Black on So Saffron cardstock, and the larger swan in Basic Black on Whisper White. Since I like to fussy cut, I cut them all out and added them to the lake with Stampin’ Dimensionals after coloring their bills with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker.
I showed it to Amelia, and she wants it for her babcia (her mommy’s mom). I’ll add a Happy Mother’s Day banner later.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
