Floral Thanks
One of my favorite sets in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is Floral Phrases. There’s coordinating designer series paper (DSP), designer washi tape, and thinlits dies. The suite is very classy and so versatile. Christy made our OnStage team beautiful monogrammed wall hangings.
I was happy to see that the stamps and thinlits are being carried over to the new 2017-18 Annual Catalog. Of course, DSP and washi tape rarely carry over; I can only remember one or two times a DSP was carried to the next catalog.
I think the paper must have been very popular, because that’s the pattern for the new 2017-19 In Color Designer Series Paper stack. I can’t wait to start using it.
For our classes this month, I’m using Floral Phrases. I think we made a card very similar to this one months ago, but I decided to change the colors and technique a bit.
I used Blushing Bride, Rose Red, and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamp. I love the way it turned out! I usually stamp in one color for a stenciled look, and the multicolored flower is very fun.
The borders are Blushing Bride, and the sentiment is stamped in Old Olive. I had a little strip of Pear Pizzazz Washi Tape along the bottom, because the card just seemed to need something to “ground” it. But when I was typing the list of supplies, I realized the washi tape was retired. Oops. It was in with my current tape. Someone needs better organization. The only thing I could find in my stamp room that coordinated even a little was the Blooms & Bliss DSP. I don’t really like it, but for now, it’s ok. I’m thinking most of my class members are going to skip that step! I think the new Powder Pink DSP will look lovely, but I don’t want to tempt everyone with too much that they can’t order yet. I’ll save it for next month.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
