Birthday Delivery

Birthday Delivery

I decided to do a “redo” of Friday’s sketch challenge. I didn’t realize until I put my card side to side with the sketch that I totally messed it up. I cut the wrong direction and I didn’t cut “point to point.” Of course, it’s ok. The sketch is just a jumping off place for creating, and Susan and Jackie are very forgiving. Still – I had a great idea to use a brand new set from the 2017-18 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog – Birthday Delivery – with the sketch. (And Jackie was hoping Susan and/or I would use some sneak peeks!) Take a look at my second try.

Birthday Delivery, Stampin' Up!

How cute is that little girl? With that curly hair, she reminds me just a little of my Amelia – but from another century. Here are some fun details.

The card base is a new In Color for 2017-19 – Powder Pink. The pink in the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper (DSP) is Blushing Bride, but I really like the powder pink – and it’s a nice match with the DSP. While I received a sample of all the new In Color Card Stock as part of my “Display Stamper” box for OnStage Local – Richmond, I was sent only two of the new stamp pads – Powder Pink and Berry Burst (which look fabulous together!). So I became a little attached to Powder Pink over the past month.

The other two layers are Rich Razzleberry and Sweet Sugarplum. Don’t they look great together with the Powder Pink?

Here’s my favorite thing. The Birthday Delivery stamp set has coordinating Birthday Friends Framelits dies. There’s a die for every image in the set. But even better – the dies coordinate with the DSP! How fabulous is that? The little girl on my card was die-cut from a sheet of the DSP. I cut out the oval with the Ovals Collection Framelits, then die-cut the girl from the oval. To give her a little shadow, I die-cut her again from Powder Pink, slipped that back into the card, then added the little cutie over the Powder Pink shadow with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I needed a background for the Sweet Sugarplum, so I randomly stamped some gifts from the Birthday Delivery set. The “Friend” sentiment is also from the set.

Buffy Cooper! Do not make me buy this set. Your card is adorable. She does remind me of Amelia.
