Another Sketch Challenge Card
Every month, Craft Project Central hosts a Sketch Challenge called Creating Pretty Cards. This month, I designed the sketch. You can see my original card and the blog post here.
Here’s another look at the sketch.
It may seem a little intimidating at first glance, but take a look at some of the examples that have been posted. They’re fabulous – and use all different styles of stamp sets.
The entries were so fun I decided to create another card using the sketch. I haven’t used my Sweet Cupcake stamp set for awhile, so I decided to use that with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits dies. If you bundle the stamps and framelits, you can save 10%. The bundle will only be available during the 2016-17 Annual Catalog Sales Period, so be sure to order now. After May 31, the bundle option will be gone.
Doesn’t that cupcake look yummy? Sweet Cupcake is a three-step. I stamped the lightest layer in Flirty Flamingo and the middle layer in Peekaboo Peach. For the darkest layer, I inked the stamp in Versamark then Watermelon Wonder without stamping in between. Then I added Heat & Stick Powder. After I melted it, I dumped on some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter. It looks nice in the picture, but it’s really sparkly and pretty in real life. The cupcake liner is Pear Pizzazz, then Cucumber Crush (stamped off one time for the middle layer). I would never have paired those two greens, but they work really well for the liner.
The Designer Series Paper is from the Fruit Stand DSP in the Annual Catalog. I’ve been so focused on the seasonal catalogs and Sale-a-bration, I’ve neglected the gorgeous papers in the Annual Catalog. Sad – because they’re beautiful. Another annual catalog product is the Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon. So cute!
The sentiment is from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. It’s a very versatile one with a coordinating punch. You can make cupcakes, baskets of flowers, trees, clouds, and more! I only used the sentiment from that set, though. And then I pulled out the Lift Me Up bundle from the Occasions Catalog for the tiny cupcakes in the corner. If you die-cut tiny baskets and clouds, you can put them together to make cupcakes. Fun!
Give the sketch a try. It’s super fun – and for every 10 entries, one is chosen to win a month subscription of your choice. Go get your creative cap on and start designing!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Monika! I’m craving cake, and this seemed to be the best way to satisfy the craving. (Hmmmm. It was fun, but I still want cake.)
