Happy Saint Patrick’s Stamp-Off Friday

Happy Saint Patrick’s Stamp-Off Friday

It’s Stamp-Off Friday with Jackie, Susan, and me. This week, it’s a St. Patrick’s Day challenge, of course. It’s all about the green!

I have a tiny, tiny, TINY bit of Irish in my DNA, so I decided to make a St. Patrick’s Day card. My dad always said my Irish (and Native American) blood drained out when I cut my knee, but I’m sure there’s still a little there somewhere. After all, I do have greenish eyes. Hey – these Irish Eyes are Smilin’ today!

Here’s my St. Pat’s card.

Stampin' Up!, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Sunshine Wishes

There’s a lot of gold on this card. I’m thinking the little people left some behind in their rush to disappear from human eyes. It’s a lot sparklier in person, let me tell you!

I die-cut three hearts from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits dies. Then I die-cut them again using Emerald Envy Cardstock. I replaced the large heart from the Emerald Envy die-cuts with the Gold Glimmer Paper ones and reassembled. (Easier said than done. I had to use a glue gun to adhere the cardstock to the glimmer paper.) I adhered them to the flower stem (also a Sunshine Wishes Thinlit die).

For the background, I embossed Delightful Dijon Cardstock with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I’m thinking that Gold Foil may have been a better option, but I’m not sure. There was already a lot of glimmer and sparkle on this one! Delightful Dijon goes really well with Emerald Envy, though, so I opted for that.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Even if that set retires, I’ll be keeping it and using the sentiments. It’s perfect for any occasion! I used the Duet Banner punch for the sentiment. I punched it two times – one for the sentiment and one for a background to give it a little more dimension.

For the final touches – I added some Emerald Envy Solid Baker’s Twine to the card because it needed a little something. And then – one of the leprechauns left some of his gold behind! I created a little pile of gold using the Gold Sequin Trim and Mini Glue Dots.

Now – go see what Susan and Jackie did for our challenge. They always make my jaw drop with their awesomeness, so check out their blogs today.

Finally – a little St. Pat’s humor for you. Q: What’s Irish and sits outside? A: Paddy O’Furniture. (Old joke, but it makes me laugh every time I hear it.)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day!

Thanks, Jackie! Now to figure out how to fit it in an envelope…(Although, it will probably be hanging on my “sample board” until the dies retire. I keep forgetting to actually send the cards I make.)
