Window Box Love
Lots of people overlook the die-cuts for boxes and bags in the Stampin’ Up! catalogs, because they don’t “do” 3-D items that often. But the dies are so versatile, and they have so many cool pieces you can use on cards and scrapbook pages as well as the box, bag, pouch, or other item.
I decided to use one of the die-cuts from the Window Box Thinlits Dies from the Occasions Catalog on this card.
This card was so quick and simple to create. First, I cut a 2″ x 5″ strip from Perfect Plum Cardstock. Then I used the heart window from the Window Box Thinlits to cut the three heart images. I backed it with a Silver Foil sheet using Stampin’ Dimensionals. (It’s hard to see, except in the bottom box, because, of course, I waited until dark to take the picture.)
After running the Blushing Bride layer through the Big Shot with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, I sponged the Blushing Bride layer just a bit to bring out the hearts, er, petals. And then I die-cut love from Silver Foil using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits. So easy!
I was in my craft room most of Monday. It was a “snow day,” which really means nothing to me – especially since this storm was very underwhelming . Even if it had been clear, I would have been doing the same thing, however. At 8:00 Monday evening, I realized I had nothing for my blog on Tuesday. I spent most of the time downstairs working on projects for my display board for OnStage 2017 in Richmond and for my April Craft Project Central project. I’m very happy with the way both are shaping up. My CPC project is done; I just need to look over the tutorial tomorrow to be sure it makes sense 24 hours after I wrote it. And I only need about 2-3 more projects for my display board. I’m very pleased with my projects so far. It’s coming together nicely, and I’ll be ready in plenty of time.
Hope you’re having a lovely week. Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy!

Very pretty card, Buffy. I love how you used the dies in a different way. Very clever!

Thanks, Susan. I think I got the idea from you and all the clever things you do with dies.

Love it, Buffy. Your comment could have been directed right at me. I often overlook this type of die, in fact I did just that, because I rarely do 3-D type things. But this is a beautiful card. Rethinking this die. You are such an enabler! Hugs.

Thanks, Sandy! I do the same thing. And then I see such cute things made with the dies.
