Emeralds, Gold, and Dragonflies
One of the more popular sets from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog this year (at least according to the pins I see on Pinterest, and the cards on social media) is Dragonfly Dreams. There’s a coordinating set of Thinlits Dies, Detailed Dragonfly, and if you bundle them, you can save 10%! Of course, that also puts you only $3.25 away from a Sale-a-bration item, so you’ll want to add some embellishments or adhesive to bump your order!
Here’s my card for today.
In case you think I’m pulling a “bait and switch” on you, I did not use Dragonfly Dreams. I used Timeless Textures, from the Annual Catalog. It just seemed to work well as a background for this card.
The center layer is a 2″ x 5-1/2″ strip of Whisper White Cardstock. I sponged a little Calypso Coral and Emerald Envy all over, then stamped the images in Emerald Envy, Early Espresso, and Island Indigo.
I had planned to die-cut the dragonflies from Copper Foil (and that’s what we’ll be using in classes this month), but I was trying to get this finished before I had to leave, and I grabbed the wrong package in my haste. The gold looks really nice, though! It was a very happy mistake. This would also look awesome with the dragonflies cut from the new (and FREE!) Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack that will be available as a new Sale-a-bration product from February 21 – March 31. Either the Bermuda Bay or Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper would look lovely. The Sweet Sugarplum would also be pretty, but the dragonflies might look radioactive in a pink. Thoughts?
I hope you’re enjoying the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration as much as I am. There are so many fun products! But don’t forget about the Annual Catalog. Many items will be retiring at the end of May, and once the retirement list comes out, a lot of accessories sell out quickly (like the 2015-17 In Color products). Don’t drag your feet and miss out; order today!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
