Stamp-Off Friday Valentines
It’s another Friday Stamp-Off! This time we’re showcasing valentines.
I’ve actually had my valentine gifts made for several weeks. The Paper Pumpkin kit in January was adorable, and I made up the boxes for the kids and my parents right away. I’ve been trying to give them out, but everyone keeps saying, “Mom, it’s not Valentine’s Day yet.” Honestly, I don’t see the problem with getting a valentine on Groundhog’s Day – especially when I know it’s chocolate.
I usually only make one card, though, and it’s for Mike. I wanted to use non-traditional colors, but I was also cramming two challenges into one again. Our demonstrator team challenge for February is a Tic Tac Toe, and to make this work, I had to either use pink or flowers. So I chose…
…pink. I thought a little pink heart would look pretty with the Bermuda Bay and Pool Party. There’s more back story (of course). Our family has been clearing out his parents’ house, and Mike’s tools were missing yesterday. Mike is a Master Electrician, so his tool bag is worth a lot. Everything that was to be put on the “auction truck” was piled in certain areas of the house, and Mike’s tools were also in that area. Could they possibly be on the truck? He was sick – until he realized he had brought them home to do a little job here. So they’re safe, and I guess he doesn’t need this saw after all. But I liked the sentiment. It seemed to fit.
I stamped the saw two times – once on Soft Suede and once on Silver Foil (in StazOn so it wouldn’t smear). Then I die cut them, embossed the Soft Suede saw with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF), then layered them. I stamped the saw a few more times in Pool Party on the Pool Party strip, then used the Happy Heart TIEF to add some hearts to the Bermuda Bay background.
So that’s my valentine. Check out Susan’s and Jackie’s wonderful creations before you head out for the day. I know they’ll inspire you as much as they inspire me every day!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

This is a very cute card, Buffy. I like how you used Silver Foil for the saw blade. Genius!

Thanks, Susan! I love it when an idea turns out like I see it in my head!

Buffy, what a wonderful valentine for Mike. Great effort at trying to replace his (seemingly) lost tools. The sentiment is perfect and Mike does deserve your heart! The construction of the saw is a GREAT idea.
