Falling in Love Sampler
Each month at our local demonstrator meetings, we either have a swap or challenge and a make & take. A few months ago, we decided to do a “sampler square swap.” Each of us made nine squares using current Stampin’ Up! products and the colors scheme from the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (DSP). The squares are gorgeous! Here’s my sampler.
From left to right, here are the designers.
Top row – Sandy, Jennie, Liz
Middle row – Christy, Holly, Chris
Bottom row – Judy, Buffy, Carol
Aren’t they all just fabulous? Although some of us had an idea about what others were doing, we didn’t really see finished products until the end. I love how no one used the same images. I almost used the same image from Beautiful You as Holly, but opted for an older set with the bee from Dragonfly Dreams. I love all the butterflies, flowers and dragonflies – and the vellum and doilies! Judy’s basket of flowers using one of the Falling in Love Embellishments for a flower is so clever.
My frame was white. Since one of the neutrals in the DSP is Very Vanilla, I sponged a little Soft Sky on the frame to tone it down a little.
The squares are mounted on a sheet of the Falling in Love Cardstock Pack. Most of the cardstock packs are 8-1/2″ x 11″, but this one is 12″ x 12″, so it’s perfect for the mat under the squares.
I hesitated for weeks before putting this together, because I was planning to measure and mark and do all kinds of math to make sure the squares were lined up. In the end, I just “eyeballed it.”
Speaking of lining up…Miss Amelia is definitely a “liner-upper.” She loves to line up her toys from largest to smallest according to color or style. It’s adorable. She likes to line people up as well. She had all of us lined up in the hall one day, and no one could move until she gave permission. (That game got old almost as quickly as the “uh oh” game kids play!)
We went shopping for a few toys the other day, and this happened.
First she lined up all the Little Ponies. And then she headed to the aisle with drinking cups.
I love how she left that huge space between the two types of cup. Maybe she thought they’d argue or something.
In case you’re wondering, yes, we did put everything back. I realized if I ever lost track of her in the store, she’d be easy to find. Just follow the trail of lined up toys. (Like I’d ever let her out of my sight. HA!)
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
