Tic Tac Toe

Tic Tac Toe

One of the challenges at the virtual pj party last weekend was a Tic Tac Toe challenge. I love those challenges, because you have lots of options. The “ingredients” in the row I chose were an “S” color (color with “s” in the name; I used So Saffron, Soft Suede, and Sahara Sand, with a few Smoky Slate shadows), create a Sympathy Card, and use Enamel Shapes. I used the White Perfect Accents, colored with a retired Daffodil Delight Blendabilities pen. I’m not sure they qualify as “enamel shapes,” but I like the way they look on the card.

Butterfly Basics, Flourishing Phrases, Stampin' Up!

I used the Butterfly Basics stamp set for the images. I stamped the flower in Basic Black Archival Ink, then colored with the new Watercolor Pencils and blended the color with a Blender Pen. Then I added a few shadows with a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.

After the flower dried, I stamped the other images and sponged some Sahara Sand ink over the edges. Themy web site sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases and is stamped in Soft Suede. I thought the card still needed a little something, so I added a bit of Linen Thread to the fold.

I like to have sympathy cards on hand in case I need them. Unlike birthdays and anniversaries, it’s not an occasion you can – or want to – plan for. I’m not sure if it’s easier to make them ahead or to make them with the person receiving it in mind. Either way, they’re the cards I hope I never have to send!

Tomorrow is our first January card class. I’m excited, because we’re making six cards this month. Two are from the Sale-a-bration Pretty Pocket Card Kit. I thought it would be fun for everyone to get to play with it – and since I didn’t really have any prep work, I added an extra card! I just hope I stay awake. We had an impromptu sleep-over with Amelia, and I don’t always get a good six (or sometimes even four) hours of sleep on those nights. She sleeps very well; I lie awake listening just in case she cries out.

We’ll also be using the Beautiful You set at class. If you order Beautiful You, a Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad, and the Watercolor Pencils, you can get a free Sale-a-bration item! Remember – for every $50 you spend, you can select a free product. Head over to my web site to order today!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
