Gold and Bubbles
Over the weekend, I participated in a virtual pajama party. It was a blast. Every few hours, the hostess (Hey, Holly!!) would send out a challenge – either a creative, business, or “getting to know you” challenge – on facebook.
I was finishing up a Craft Project Central project at the same time, so I didn’t get to do all the challenges, but I did do a few of them. One of the first was the “Chopped Challenge” I posted a few days ago.
One of the “getting to know you” questions was about what “adult beverage” you liked to drink. I only have three things that I drink – water, coffee, and white wine. So, I chose to answer wine. And then we were asked to make a card using that as inspiration.
Some of the other cards were beautiful – very colorful and fruity. But what do you do with wine?
After stamping on the Very Vanilla layer with the flower and leaf images from the new So in Love stamp set from the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, I embossed it with the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Wine doesn’t have bubbles, but champagne does – and champagne is kind of like wine, right?
The So Detailed Thinlits Dies make a beautiful “over layer” for any project. I used Gold Foil to die-cut the flowers, then added them to the Very Vanilla layer. A leftover piece of So Saffron Baker’s Twine (from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit) hold the layers closed with a little die-cut tag (Tags & Labels Framelits).
The gold and vanilla layers are layered over a Pear Pizzazz card, because it kind of reminded me of a wine bottle color. I think it would make a beautiful anniversary or wedding card. If I had planned a little better, I would have made it a gift card holder. I ma still make a coordinating card holder for this one. It would be perfect for a Golden Anniversary card.
Check out all the amazing new products in the Occasions Catalog. And remember – for every $50 you spend, you can add a free Sale-a-bration item! You don’t want to miss out on this. And, of course, if you hostess a qualifying party, you can add $25 to your “Stampin’ Rewards.” See all the products and details here.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
