Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

Today’s the day! You can order from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog – and it’s the beginning of Sale-a-bration as well. For every $50 you spend on Stampin’ Up! products, you can select a free Sale-a-bration item. And with a qualifying party, you can add $25 to your Stampin’ Rewards. AND – if you join my team of demonstrators during Sale-a-bration, you can add two FREE stamp sets to your starter kit.

When I saw the Everyday Hero set in the Stampin’ Up! 2017 Occasions Catalog, I knew I wanted it. Both of my parents are my superheros, but since Mom’s birthday is coming up, I made this for her. It’s not her “official” birthday card, though. I just couldn’t resist making this for her.

Everyday Hero, Stampin' Up!

I had so much fun making this! I stamped the skyline three times in Versamark on So Saffron Cardstock, then embossed the image with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. My plan was to use black, but when I looked at it on the table, I had picked up silver. I think it was destined to be. I love the way the silver gives just enough glow in the night.

I colored the buildings with Basic Gray and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers, then cut them up and positioned them on the Perfect Plum layer. Looking back, I wish I had added some stars, but I was having so much fun coloring and cutting, I forgot.

Everyday Hero is a photopolymer set, so it’s super easy to line up the face, body, cape, and monogram on the superhero. The female has a pony tail, but I lopped that off so she’d look more like Mom.

I wanted to do reds and purples to go with the night sky, so I colored her superhero spandex and cape in Rose Red and Elegant Eggplant. Of course, I gave her pearl earrings. I’m sure if my mother ever went on a secret mission, she’d wear pearls. (One day, I’ll blog about her “spy days.” Maybe I’ll let her guest blog for me.) And, finally, I covered the lenses of the glasses with Fine-Tip Glue to make them look more glass-like.

You can order this super cute set today! The new Occasions catalog is a great mix of styles; I know you’re going to love it as much as I do. And, of course, you can add those Sale-a-bration freebies to your order! It’s all good!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
