It’s Friday – and this week Susan, Jackie, & I have a Color Challenge.

I wanted to use a current Annual Catalog set, since I’ve been focusing on Holiday and Occasions. The beautiful sets in the Annual Catalog that we all loved seven months ago are feeling a little neglected. I chose Mixed Borders.

Stampin' Up!, Mixed Borders

This set is so fun, because there are several borders in the set with a space in it for the sentiment. You can mix and match the borders and sentiments. I chose this one because it coordinated with the paper – and because I have a special family member’s birthday coming up soon.

In case you don’t see all the colors – there’s Crumb Cake (Neutrals), Night of Navy (Regals), and Daffodil Delight (Brights) in the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). I used Blushing Bride (Subtles)as my card base. I even have three of the soon-to-be-retired In Colors – Cucumber Crush, Watermelon Wonder, and Mint Macaron. Let’s hear a shout-out for DSP!

I stamped the border in Basic Black Archival Ink, then colored the flowers with Blushing Bride, Cucumber Crush, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy to coordinate with the paper.

For a final touch, I added a little Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape. I love the copper in this suite! And then I thought the banner needed a bit of bling, so I added some Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter. I think this is my “go-to” sketch lately. It’s so easy and fun, and you can do a lot with it – adding die-cuts or embellishments, dressing it up or down as the occasions calls. And by using DSP, it’s super quick and easy.

Now – check out Susan’s & Jackie’s blogs. I know they both have something fabulous!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Great card Buffy. I get so frustrated because I buy the washi tape and then forget to use it. Your beautiful card is a reminder that DSP and washi tape can get the job done.

I am with you! I have to vowed to use my DSP & Washi Tape this year. So far, I have failed miserably. Love your card, Buffy. Everything goes so well together!
