One Big Meaning
This month’s Creating Pretty Cards sketch challenge at Craft Project Central is so fun! There are so many ways to interpret the sketch. Take a look.
Cute, right? The first thought I had was to use designer series paper and cut it into strips. But I wanted to do something “out of the box.” Or, at least, partially out of the box.
Instead of paper, I used stamps to create the stack. I layered three sentiment stamps from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set onto the Pool Party cardstock. Then I pressed the largest clear block over the stamps. Once they were adhered to the block, I used Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango, and Bermuda Bay ink pads and markers to ink the stamps. That way, I could stamp all the sentiments at the same time. Even though I only used four stamps, I do have six layers in the “tree,” plus the sentiment at the top.
For the little embellishments, I used Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim. I thought it would add sparkle and tie in the colors. Miss Amelia found my Bermuda Bay sequin trim the other day. She was quite excited, and started pulling it off the roll at an alarming speed. I quickly cut off a piece for her to play with, then rolled the rest back onto the spool. That girl loves glitter and sparkles. She also discovered glitter that same day. We won’t talk about that right now. Back to my card…
For the top and bottom embellishments, I used Tangerine Tango Enamel (Heart) Shapes. I thought the hearts went well with the sentiments I used. And, of course, one more “thanks” sentiment went at the top.
If you get a little extra time, give the sketch a try! You could win a free subscription to Craft Project Central if you enter. For every 10 entries, one free subscription is given away, so give it a shot. It’s a lot of fun, and it gets those creative juices flowing.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
