Stamp-Off Double Z-Fold Card Challenge
It’s another Stamp-Off Friday! (Cue the confetti and balloons!)
So I have to admit – “fun fold” challenges aren’t my thing. They’re fun once you get into them, but I like sketches, color challenges, and tic tac toe challenges.
At our Craft Night, I decided to re-create a cute little snowman card that a friend had given me. I wanted to turn it into a sweater using the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF) – and it looked wonderful. The only problem I ran into was when I embedded the snowman and snow into the card with the TIEF, it just looked like a big blob of white snow. Poor snowman. I added a bit of Soft Sky ink and some glitter, and he was back.
And then it hit me. Why not use this for the Double Z Fun Fold Card Challenge? Why not, indeed! It worked really well (thanks, Christy and Liz, for the creative input).
Here’s the original snowman embedded in the sweater.
And here’s the rest of the card. I added some of the trees from the Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits Dies (found in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog), and a snowman and sentiment from the Snow Place stamp set and coordinating Snow Friends Framelits from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
The skinny strip is simply a 1/2″ x 11″ strip of Soft Sky card stock covered with “greenery” from the Flourish Thinlits dies. I hadn’t really planned ahead, so I had limited supplies with me. I think it turned out really well, though!
Here’s a look from the side so you can see the double-z. Of course, it’s not a Z since I turned it on its side. Susan’s not the only one who can “go rogue.”
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Please go check out Susan’s & Jackie’s blogs to see what they did for this challenge.
Have a wonderful day!

Beautiful card Buffy. Really well conceived and thought out. But Oh boy, I did not get the correct memo!!! I did a whole different fold. Oh well. That’s what I get for doing a search and picking the name off the internet!!

Thanks, Jackie! (I would have done the same fold you did if I hadn’t seen a comment from Susan to Deborah Smart a couple days ago.) A double z is a double z – no matter which fold you use.

I love your snowman card and it is fun that you put it sideways (you rebel, you!)! That is the best part of these challenges. We each interpret things differently.

Thanks, Susan! I have a long way to go before I reach the rebel level of the Master (you).

What a great idea to turn the ‘z’ on it’s side! (does that make it a double ‘N’?!) 🙂 Your snowman turned out terrific, Buffy; the little one on the front look like he’s looking up to his big brother.

Awwww – what a sweet thought. Next one I make, I’ll use the real big brother from the set! Thanks, Deborah!
