Speaking of Christmas – we had a sleepover with Miss Amelia Saturday night. I decided we should put up our little Christmas tree. Our big tree finally died a few years ago. Limbs were falling off and half the lights were dead. That was the first year Mike & I had an empty nest, and I bought a little four-footer for the two of us. It’s perfect – even though one of the boys (Wesley, I think) made a comment about us having an “old folks’ tree.” We’re just returning to our roots. This is the same sized tree we had before we had kids.
When I pulled this out of the box Saturday, Amelia’s eyes lit up and her face just glowed. I’ll never forget the look on her face. All I could think of was “Christmas Magic!” We had a blast decorating our little tree. Only one ball got broken – and that was my fault.
This photo was taken before we added any ornaments. We had such a great time adding all the favorites – some crocheted snowflakes my grandmother had made for us early in our marriage, handmade ornaments from the boys when they were little, and favorite ornaments from friends over the years. Every ornament is a cherished memory! Of course, the memory of decorating our tree with the first grand is the most cherished of all.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful, memory-filled day!
