Stamp-Off Friday Color Challenge

Stamp-Off Friday Color Challenge

bannerIt’s another Friday Stamp-Off Challenge! We have a fun color challenge for you this week.

How fun are those colors? They can be Christmas, fall, or even spring and summer colors. They’re all In Colors, and they’re all retiring in 2017. (*sad*) Every year, there are In Colors that I love and some that I don’t love so much. By the end of their tenure, I really love the ones I was lukewarm over – so this year, I decided to skip the “lukewarm love” and go straight to “LOVE IT!” And these three colors work so well together, it’s hard not to love them.

I was designing cards for my November classes, and we’re doing Christmas cards, so I went with the Christmas theme for this challenge. I love that Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron aren’t traditional reds and greens. So here’s my card.

Merry Mice, Stampin' Up!

Love that little musical mouse from the Merry Mice set! And it’s being offered at a discount this month, because it coordinates with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. The card base is Mint Macaron, and I embossed it with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I added some 2015-17 In Color Designer Series Paper and some of the 3/8″ Glitter Ribbon Combo Pack. The ribbon comes in Sweet Sugarplum and silver (obviously, I used silver). I added a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits under the mouse. The Layering Ovals, Squares, and Circles coordinate perfectly with the Stitched Shapes Framelits (order these NOW, because they’re flying off the shelves. They’ll be on the “not orderable” list Monday, Nov 21, until we get another large shipment!).

I colored the mouse with Blender Pens and Stampin’ Classic Pads. Besides the three colors in the challenge, I added some Pink Pirouette (ears and nose) and Smoky Slate (mouse). I also drizzled on some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details, but I’m not sure I like it. I’m thinking Wink of Stella would look a little nicer.

Before you leave, check out what Susan and Jackie did with this fun color challenge. They’ve been “copying” each other lately and using the same stamps and/or framelits. Wonder what they’ll do this week?

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

wonderful card Buffy. You did such a nice coloring job and the layout really emphasizes that sweet mouse. You sure are getting your money’s worth out of that set.

Your card is so cute, Buffy. I will miss the retiring In Colors too. I wish we could keep them all every year (well maybe not some of the unpleasant yellows we have had)!

What an adorable card, Buffy! The little choir mouse takes the spotlight, and is so cute. Great job of colouring! I think these ‘non traditional’ colours work well for a Christmas card
