Stamp-Off Friday – Negative Space
When I looked at our Stamp-Off challenge this week, I knew exactly what stamp sets and die-cuts I wanted to use. One of the bundles we could preorder from #OnStage2016 was the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set/Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies bundle. Next to Beautiful You, it’s probably my favorite product in the new Occasions 2017 catalog. I won Beautiful You in the first Prize Patrol (woot!!!), and I preordered the Dragonfly Dreams bundle when I got home Sunday night. Of course, I expedited, so I already have it to play with! Can you say, “Happy Stamper?”
Here’s the banner for our Negative Space challenge.
And here’s my card using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.
I used a piece of Watercolor paper for the “backing” piece. Using an Aqua Painter and So Saffron, Melon Mambo, and Bermuda Bay ink refills, I colored the watercolor paper with the ink. The Bermuda Bay section doesn’t show as much – so this is a much more subtle card than I envisioned. But I like it.
After die-cutting the string of dragonflies from a Whisper White Cardstock layer, I backed it with the watercolored layer. Then I added the die-cut dragonflies back onto the Whisper White layer using SNAIL. If you use the Silicone Craft Sheets, most of the SNAIL adhesive sticks to the sheet. What doesn’t stick is easily rubbed off with your finger, or, more appropriately, the Adhesive Remover.
For the sentiment, I inked a stamp from Beautiful You with Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay Markers. And the final touch is some Bermuda Bay and Fancy Frost Sequins. It adds just a little glitz, but doesn’t take away from the focal points.
I know I’m a little enamored with the Occasions catalog right now, but I’ll be posting some more Holiday projects next week. I just thought you might like a few sneak peeks. Remember, if you’d like any of our current catalogs (Holiday or Annual) or want copies of the Occasions or Sale-a-bration catalogs that will be active in January, please let me know.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day!
