Country Livin’
Country Living’ is a set in the 2016-17 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog that I immediately fell in love with. The guitar looks like the one Mike gave me for my first birthday after we got married. The boots remind me of my little brother. The truck? I don’t remember our family having a truck like that, but it’s something else to watercolor with the new coloring tools in the Occasions Catalog.
This set had me stumped for awhile. It’s hard to be really original with it – and I never knew what sentiment to pair it with. Christy and I were looking at her #OnStage2016 swaps on the way home Sunday, and one of her “Country Livin'” swaps used the “Just a Note” sentiment from Flourishing Phrases. It was perfect!
I stamped the guitar and sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. It’s not the best for watercoloring, because it’s water based, but I like the crisp detail I get with it. You just have to be a little careful.
I used Delightful Dijon and Crumb Cake ink to color the guitar. It needed something, so I added some Timeless Textures splatters in Delightful Dijon, Bermuda Bay, and Crumb Cake. I love the fall colors with a splash of Bermuda Bay.
Speaking of fall – I had such a delightful time with Amelia yesterday. Wesley was off from work, but he had a class, so the girlie and I visited my parents. They were gone when we got there and I had forgotten my key (ok, yes, Mom, I lost it. It’s here somewhere, but I’m not sure which purse it’s in). While we were waiting, Amelia and I stole some green peppers from the garden, took a lovely walk in the woods and talked about the difference between deciduous and conifer trees, and then piled up some leaves in the yard to jump in. Since it was a warmish day and the ground was fairly dry, I taught Amelia to roll down the hill in the backyard. What fun! I love hearing her laugh and seeing that beautiful smile.
I hope you have a lovely day. Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy!

Color some rust onto that truck and it is parked across the street from me. Funny that I just noticed it there yesterday, and it has been sinking into the scenery for a decade or two. Beautiful card and thanks for the peek.
