Beautiful You

Beautiful You

(Edited:  Apologies for launching this early. Apparently “3:00” to WordPress is not “1500 hours.”)

When I looked through the new 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, one set caught my eye. Ok, lots of sets caught my eye and called my name. But one in particular just spoke to me. It reminded me of some of my favorite sets from several years ago. They were fun to watercolor and were just so pretty and elegant.

At Stampin’ Up! events, they have “Prize Patrol” at various time during the day. This year, at #OnStage2016 in November, we had buttons with letters on them, and if you were wearing the letter that was called, you won the prize. The very first prize patrol was for the Beautiful You set that I loved. This wasn’t a set that we could “pre-preorder” before December, so my friend Holly- who also had a “T” button –  and I had our fingers crossed that we would win.

There was a drumroll – and then —- WE WON! I can’t tell you more than this right now, but just know that I’m going to use this stamp set a lot.

Here are a couple samples I made with it when I got home last night.

Beautiful You, Stampin' Up!

For this one, I stamped the image in Jet Black StazOn ink on watercolor paper, then colored with Blushing Bride and Pink Pirouette Ink and an Aqua Painter. I heat embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and added a few Subtles Enamel Shapes. Finally, I wrapped some Blushing Bride Solid Baker’s Twine around the card.

Beautiful You, Stampin' Up!

For this one, I used the Paper Piecing Techinque. I stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock, then again on a sheet of the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack. I cut out the dress from the designer series paper, then adhered it to the stamped image. Easy!! I added some Gold Metallic Thread behind the panels, then stamped the image on the Delightful Dijon layer and embossed with the Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For a final touch,, I added some White Perfect Accents. What? You don’t see white accents? That’s because I colored them with a black permanent marker before I added the to the card. Black just seems a bit more elegant, don’t you think?

You’re going to love the new Occasions Catalog – and the Sale-a-bration brochure. But for now – don’t forget about the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the coordinating stamps that are offered at a 25% discount this month!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
