Stamp-Off Friday Color Challenge
It’s FRIDAY!!! I love our Stamp-Off Challenges. They’re so much fun – and they’re also very challenging. I think I’ve only added one challenge in the year or so we’ve been doing these. Sad, right? One day, I’ll be able to catch up. Jackie & Susan are just so organized and on the ball. By the time I think of a challenge, they’re six months ahead of me. *sigh*
This week, we have a color challenge for you. Honestly, I don’t know who posted this one, but I’m going to bet it was Susan. These are such nautical colors, and she married a nautical guy. They live on a lake and boat all the time. (Is “boat” a verb? I’m not sure if they sail or if there’s a motor. So “boat” it is.) Here’s the banner with the colors.
Now, be honest. Is that nautical and classic or what? I think so. I was tempted to go with Swirly Bird and the Swirly dies, but I decided to go another direction.
I went “Clean and Simple (CAS)” Here’s a little secret – I hate my CAS cards. I just don’t do it well. I like to sponge and rip and add layers. But I liked the idea behind this one, so I went with it.
I used the Vertical Greetings set for the sentiment and images. The “Happy Birthday” sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy. For the topiaries, I inked the stamp with Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Markers. When I finished, I realized that all the Night of Navy was at the left side, so I added a few splatters from the Jar of Cheer set. The designer series paper at the bottom is one of the designs in the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. I was going to use the Floral Boutique Designer Washi Tape, but I loaned it to a friend. Oops! The DSP worked even better, though, I think.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
