Spooky Fun
Here’s a card I created a month or so ago, but hadn’t blogged it yet. It’s uses the new Halloween Scares set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog.
We don’t really “celebrate” Halloween, but I loved this house – and the fence. I stamped the house and masked the moon, then sponged around them with Rich Razzleberry and Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ Ink. I colored the windows with a Gold Wink of Stella glitter pen. It iave it a little more eerie look, I think. Finally, I added a tiny bit of ink to the doorway and steps.
It was really easy to stamp the fence pieces, cat, bats, and sentiment in Black Archival ink when I finished the sponging. I think it has a kind of ethereal, foggy night look about it.
It still needed something, though, so I added a bit of Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape along the bottom. It kind of looks like a road or sidewalk, with maybe some leaves strewn about. I want to check over my shoulder every time I look at the card.
This has been a wonderful weekend. Mike’s birthday was Friday, so we ran to the mountains to celebrate. It was so quiet and peaceful – and it was fun just having time together. I cooked a spicy Thai dinner on his birthday (Mike loves spicy food), and an Indian dish on Saturday. I’ll have to admit – I had to follow the food bites with a lick off a sugar free fudge pop on Saturday. It was delicious, but quite hot. Today was “left-over” day. He had Indian; I had Thai. I was able to save the fudge pop for dessert this time.
We got home around 9 p.m., unpacked everything, and I was just getting ready to start my blog when I heard a noise on the piano. I’m making some favors and centerpieces for our high school class reunion in October, and, for lack of a better place, they’re being stored on the piano for now. Miss Ashlynn (our crazy cat) decided to make a bed in the favor boxes. Ugh! They’re all crunched up now. I think I can salvage them, but that’s for another day.
Hope you have a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.
