Stamp-Off Friday Challenge – Lots of Layers
I love layers, so this was a fun one. I also used the sketch from Craft Project Central’s Creating Pretty Cards challenge for September.
This is a really cool sketch – but it’s trickier than it looks because that window is really a window!. Check out Monika’s tutorial here. I’m not sure I followed it exactly, but it was close.
Layers and the window – sweet! And, how many layers? 11, I think. Eleven fun layers!
I used the Sweet Cupcake stamp set with the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits Dies and Flourish Thinlits dies. I had decided on Sweet Sugarplum and Perfect Plum for my cupcake, so those were the colors I took with me when Mike & I had our weekend retreat. But I also threw in the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper, because I haven’t used it enough. Neither of those colors is in the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper. The closest is Flirty Flamingo. Oops. But it worked out ok. The design that I used is a little plummier than flamingo, I think.
For the window, I used my Tags & Labels Framelits. I haven’t used them in a while, and they make great windows! This is the perfect size for the cupcake.
Of course, there are the things you don’t notice until you’ve photographed and blogged a card – like you need new cutting blades. Another oops. Time to order more!
Give the challenges a try! For every 10 entries in the Creating Pretty Cards sketch challenge, one is randomly chosen to win a free month’s subscription! So you have nothing to lose – and everything to win! Link your card to the CPC site and you could win a free month!
