Pretty Kitty Friend
Every now and then, a friend comes along who is totally amazing. She (or he) does the unexpected – and expects nothing in return. Christy Tobin is that friend. She entered my life over 18 months ago. She had moved back to Virginia from Connecticut, and she wanted some stamping friends. The first time she came to a class, she brought an adorable box filled with gummies (that have since been eaten. But the box is still intact.) Every time I see her, she gives me a handful of cards she’s made, or an adorable 3-D item. She’s the first to volunteer to do a make & take or bring refreshments to our local demo meetings. Since I don’t have a direct upline, she invited me to her group’s facebook page – and this is a wonderful and fun group of stampers! Every time I turn around, she’s doing something amazing for me. Best of all, she helps out at the assisted living facility each month, and the ladies love her!
Christy has been offering shares of product from the recent catalogs. I usually buy everything I want early, so I haven’t participated (even though I’ve been tempted!). Does that stop Christy from making me a designer series paper or washi tape sampler? No. Every catalog, she shows up with a sampler or other products for me to play with.
After 20+ years as a pastor’s wife, I sometimes think, “What’s your angle?” Sadly, dealing with “religious people” tends to make one cynical. But Christy doesn’t have an angle. She’s just sweet, and giving, and wonderful. So, this card is for her, although I think a friend like Christy would only come around every 21 lives, not nine. If I had a sister, I’d want her to be Christy. (But when we celebrated her birthday this year, I realized she could be my daughter. And then I felt old. For about two seconds.)
This card uses the Pretty Kitty stamp set (Amelia’s favorite! I had to sneak it away from her!) and the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper (DSP). (And, by the way, if Christy hadn’t given me a sampler of the DSP from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, I wouldn’t have ordered the Fruit Stand DSP. She’s not only a wonderful friend; she’s also an enabler!)
Hope you have a friend as amazing as mine! I’ll always be thankful for the day Christy entered my life.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
