Stamp-Off Friday – DSP to the Rescue!
It’s time for another Stamp-Off Friday challenge! This week, it’s all about Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper.
I love the Designer Series Paper (DSP) Stampin’ Up! offers in our catalogs. They’re fresh and pretty, and the coordinate with other products – stamps, die-cuts and punches, accessories, and, of course, our cardstock and ink.
My card is super simple. I needed a quick card for an event, and this is what I designed.
Because this is probably the simplest card I’ve ever made, I wanted to do two, so you could see what it would look like with dark DSP on Whisper White Thick Cardstock. But, as often happens, time was not my friend today!
This card originally had two pieces – the Night of Navy card base and a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper. I cut the bottom of the DSP with the Detailed Floral Thinlits, then stamped the sentiment from the Floral Phrases Stamp Set. Add the DSP to the card, and you’re done! As I looked at it today, though, I thought, “It would look better if there was something across the DSP above the die-cut. So I added a 1/2″ x 4” strip of Night of Navy. And then I decided a little strip of the Floral Boutique Designer Washi Tape across the Night of Navy would make it even better!
I also planned to redo the embossing and use either gold or silver instead of copper, but I ran out of time. I love the copper embossing powder, though. This is a card for class, and I wasn’t sure I had enough gold for everyone. And the silver? Your guess is as good as mine. Someone – who’s about 3 feet tall – has rearranged all my embossing powders and glitter. I’ll find it one day.
Be sure to head over to Jackie’s and Susan’s blogs to see what they designed for this challenge. It will be amazing, I promise!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
