Stamp-Off Friday Sketch Challenge

It’s time for another Stamp-Off Friday Challenge with Susan, Jackie and me! This time it’s a sketch challenge.

I actually made the card for today’s challenge before the one yesterday. I wanted to use Tuscan Vineyard for today’s card, and when I opened the stamp box, I found some pieces I had created earlier but didn’t use. So one went on yesterday’s card, and one is still on the box.

All the pieces for today’s challenge are “freshly stamped.” And it’s really a “double challenge.” I wanted to use some colors I hadn’t played with for quite awhile – Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip. Always Artichoke was always my “go to green.” But then we got Mossy Meadow for a couple years, and I also rediscovered Garden Green. And Chocolate Chip? Sadly, it got pushed behind Early Espresso. And, really, that shouldn’t happen. Why can’t we have chocolate and espresso? (Side note: I love chocolate. I love coffee. I do not love chocolate flavored coffee, which, I guess, would be called “mocha.” I just don’t like flavors. I simply want coffee. No milk. No sugar. No flavors. I can’t handle more than just pouring a cup in the morning.)  So, now that you know more than you wanted, here’s my card.

I’m really happy with this one. I inked the stamp with Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Markers (SWM). Then I added the shadows with a Basic Gray SWM and used an Early Espresso SWM on portions of the wine basket so it wouldn’t be as flat. The sponging is Crumb Cake.

For the sentiment, I used the Mixed Borders set. I thought the leaves in the border could work as the “added embellishment.” I’m not sure if that’s strictly adhering to the sketch, but Susan and Jackie are pretty cool and laid back, so I think they’ll go with it.  I love this set, because each border has a space where the sentiment fits. I used Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip (again) for the sentiment on Old Olive Cardstock.

Because this is a darker card, I added a layer of Very Vanilla inside and stamped the line of corks on it. I also stamped some elements from the set on the card front in VersaMark. It’s very faint, but I like it. It keeps it from being too blank and boring, but it doesn’t take away from the main image.
