Just a Note
Here’s a card my friend Christy made me. She saw it online and knew I’d love it – and she was right!
I’m going to make a ton of these to use for myself and to give to my musician friends. It’s so adorable! The music staff is from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits dies, and the note heads are from another set of framelits. I think they’re from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits dies, but I’ll have to double check. The original project used the retired mini oval punch, but Christy knows I’m obsessive and try to use only current Stampin’ Up! product if I can for classes and blog posts. Personally, when I make these for myself and for friends, I’m going to use the punch, because it’s a lot quicker and easier. But for classes, of course, I’ll use the current die, because whenever I use something in a class that has been retired, it’s what people want to buy. Go figure.
The sentiment – “Just a Note” – is from the new Flourishing Phrases set. It has wonderful sentiments for so many occasions. I love the simplicity of the black and vanilla card, don’t you? And about the stems – they’re just cut on the Stampin’ Trimmer. Super easy, right?
Today was a wonderful day! Miss Amelia will turn two years old on August 29, but her daddy goes back on night shift tomorrow. Her parents decided to have her birthday party today – and what a fun time it was! She had a mermaid themed party, and she dressed for the part.
Check out that mermaid top and those adorable leggings. And how cute are her cousins, Tyler and Anna Kate? If you look to the left of my head, you can see her beautiful mommy and her best friend Ellie in the background.
Here are some more pics from the party.
These were after she had been practicing her boxing. And then she needed a little pick-me-up.
Aunt Selma brought a scrumptious banana pudding/strawberry dessert (and she gave her the stuffed cat for her birthday). I know the cat was her favorite gift, and she LOVED the pudding.
Here’s her cake. I didn’t get a photo today, but picture a “2” on top and no sour cream in the background.
How perfect is that for a mermaid party? Happy 2nd birthday, my dear sweet Amelia! I can’t believe you’re almost two years old! I love you more every day.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
