Happy Birthday, Sugarplum!

Happy Birthday, Sugarplum!

I just watched a Stampin’ Up! Behind the Scenes video this morning and found out that the Sweet Sugarplum Classic Stampin’ Pad is the number one best seller from the annual catalog. It’s funny, because it’s the color I could never remember and not the one I tended to gravitate to. But, oddly enough, I probably use it more than the ones I thought I’d like better. Maybe it’s because it goes well with Blushing Bride, Perfect Plum, and Rich Razzleberry. And, again, some of those aren’t colors I grab when I’m making a card. I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone with more pinky purples, so maybe that’s why I find myself reaching for that Sugarplum. Or maybe, somewhere deep in my subconscious mind I’m thinking about my dad’s sugar plums and wanting a few. Whatever the reason, Here’s my Sugarplum birthday card.

Circle of Spring, Stampin' Up!

I used the Circle of Spring stamp set from the Annual Catalog with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies. It was super easy and quick to stamp the wreath and bow, then color with Stampin’ Write Markers and die-cut.

I usually load up on thank you cards, but we have lots of birthdays in September, so I thought I’d better get ready! I used the Thoughtful Banners bundle for the sentiment and banner. The Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper seemed perfect for this card, as did the strip of Affectionately Yours Designer Washi Tape.

This stamp set is so fun, because you can use it for almost any season by simply changing the colors. You can make several in different colors to keep on hand for any occasion – birthdays, anniversaries, thank you cards, even weddings. And once you have the framelits, you might as well order the Wondrous Wreath set. It also coordinates with the Wonderful Wreath framelits and is perfect for Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Lovely card -versatile. Thanks to the Spring freeze, there were only SIX plums on the big, old tree. Your Dad ate 3 on his rounds, but the d—– old blackbirds got the other 3!!!!!

Oh, no! The DOBBs struck again. Ugh. Glad Dad got three anyway. I thought it was weird that we didn’t have a little box on the table for “snacks” this year.
Thanks for your comments! I love you!

This wreath is so pretty – I really like it with the Sweet Sugarplum. I heard that bit about SS being the #1 selling ink pad, too – and was also surprised! Good for you, for getting prepared for upcoming birthdays 🙂
