Hit the Beach
Tomorrow I’m heading to one of our local Assisted Living Facilities to do crafts with the residents. I’m really looking forward to it! They wanted a beach theme, so here’s the card I designed.
I paired the umbrella from the Weather Together Bundle with the Swirly Scribbles framelits and some torn paper to create a beach scene. For tomorrow’s card, we’ll be using the clouds from the Weather Together Bundle, but this one uses the bigger clouds from the Tree Builder Punch.
I remembered today that they also wanted a bookmark, so I designed this to coordinate with the card. Can’t you just smell the sea air?
The bookmark uses paper I got from Lois, the facility’s activities coordinator. Still, the two papers show the difference between the water and sky. I stamped the boat from Swirly Bird using Watermelon Wonder and Tip Top Taupe ink. The sun on the bookmark is a 3/4″ Daffodil Delight circle, and the ribbon is retired Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon. It just seemed so bright and cheery, I had to use it.
Speaking of bright and cheery – while we’ve had lots of kale, broccoli, zucchini, and cucumbers from our garden, our hundreds of tomatoes have taken their sweet time turning red. Finally, today, I found two that were close to red, so I had to pick them. Yum! I made a salad for lunch using our tomatoes and cucumbers, a little scallion, avocado and tuna. The dressing was balsamic vinegar with a splash of olive oil and some sweetener, and salt and pepper, of course. So good! I love being able to go to the backyard and pick our food. I meant to take a photo of the tomatoes, but I was too excited and cut into them before I thought.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
