This is been such a restful and fun weekend in the mountains. We had lots of plans – I wanted to organize cabinets, do some cleaning, and, of course, stamp. Mike was going to do “yard” work (it’s mostly trees, bushes, and “scrub,” since it’s a mountain house) and a few other repairs. What did we really do? We slept until we work up – no alarms! – and did whatever we felt like doing. I stamped a lot and read three books. Mike wrote a ton of blogs and watched some videos on SEO. And, of course, he worked out. It’s been lovely.
Of course, all good things eventually have an end, so we’re heading home tomorrow. Im looking forward to seeing the kids and parents, though, as well as the dog. I’ve heard he’s had a rough weekend with all the fireworks.
So I have a fun card for today. This isn’t original. At our last Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator meeting, we had a “show & tell.” I brought one of my Fairy Celebration cards, and several of the demos were talking about a card they had seen with the fairy in the wall. It sounded like fun, so I had to try it. (If this was your original idea. feel free to comment with your name and a link to your project! I’d love to see it, as well as give you credit.)
I embossed a Whisper White piece of cardstock using the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, then inked it with Cherry Cobbler ink, using one of the new sponge brayers. I smudged a little Whisper White Craft Ink on it as well.
I stamped the fairy in Jet Black StazOn, then colored with markers, ink pads, and an aqua painter. And, of course, I added glitter to the fairy wings. I also added some glitter around the fairy and outside the wall. Because, of course, you can’t contain fairy dust, right?
My inspiration for this was my little fairy princess granddaughter. I know this has been posted before, but, hey – maybe you didn’t see it. (Yes, I am one of the grandmas who will show you every photo I’ve taken of Miss Amelia for the past 22 months.)
This photo was taken only a month or so ago, but she’s changed so much already. I can’t believe how fast this little girl is growing up. Her latest thing – she wants to be naked. All the time. They kind of frown on this at the grocery store, though. I’m hoping this will be a short phase!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
