Dragging Along

Dragging Along

This is very likely the fastest card I’ve ever made. Seriously. It’s so simple and fun. I used a “dragging” technique from Frenchie Martin with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. Is anyone else amazed that the LAAT stamp set is still hanging in there? It’s my oldest current set. I think I bought it before I became a demonstrator.

Lovely as a Tree, Stampin' Up!

I used ink pads to drag the ink across the card stock (Soft Sky and Marina Mist for the sky, and Wild Wasabi and Garden Green for the grass). Then I simply stamped three trees in Basic Black and colored the trunks with a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker and the leaves with a sponge dauber and Garden Green Classic Ink. I thought a few blades of grass would be nice, so I borrowed some from Sheltering Tree. I’m pretty sure they’re Wild Wasabi.

And that’s it. Five minutes is all it took to make this card. Maybe not even five minutes. The sentiment is from Jar of Love, and it’s stamped in Marina Mist.

Hope you’re enjoying your summer! Our garden is going crazy. At least, the tomatoes, cucumbers, and zucchini are. They’ve taken over the little plot we have, although the broccoli is hanging in there. There are several more baby heads starting to form. I’m pretty sure something got to our cauliflower, which is sad, because my boys have been doing some pretty awesome things with cauliflower. I was going to “gift” it to them and let them cook dinner for the families. Ah, well. I still have some snow peas, peppers, and other plants that we started from seed, so they’re running a little behind the others.

Just when I thought I was doing a great job with my garden, I saw my dad’s. Holy Sweet Corn, Batman! His is 10 times the size of mine and he’s got everything you could ever want in a garden. I didn’t see any of this when I was there a few days ago, but today? Today everything was popping up. And Dad & Mom even had enough green beans leftover from their lunch for a snack for Amelia and me, plus she gave me a bag to cook. I popped them on the stove when I got home, and Miss Amelia ate five more bowls full. That girl knows what’s good!

GreenBeanGirl

Yes, she is sitting on the coffee table, and, yes, she’s eating with her fingers. But all the beans are in the bowl and not on the table or sofa. I pick my battles. I think she just wants to be at the same level as the grown-ups in her life, so she does what she has to in order to be taller – without being treated like a baby. (Like sitting in a high chair.) If only I could make her understand that it’s so much more fun to be a child than a grown-up!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Have a wonderful day!
